One of the first areas of dog training starts with collar training. You will learn how to apply pressure when needed and reinforce positive behavior with encouragement. Once your dog understands what you are wanting from him, he will very quickly adjust to the collar training and you will be walking with your dog in no time. Collar training is one of the first steps toward basic obedience training.

Puppy Training can be administered once the puppy is old enough to understand and retain the lesson you have taught him. The most common error puppy owners make when they are training dogs is to start the puppy off too early and the puppy has a hard time conditioning to the requests of the over-anxious dog owner.

Dog obedience has to be started when the puppy is mature enough to retain one training session after another. Simple obedience training will be practiced the moment you bring your dog home; however, the basic dog obedience commands taught should be followed once the puppy is at least 5 months old.

Patience is the most important attribute to practice when training dogs. The mind of a puppy is actually at a very fragile stage until he matures into an adult dog and has confidence.
